26th Sept- 2nd Oct

 Great job Yellow, Orange and Purple on cleaning up the stadium yesterday! The stadium is looking ready for the ski season.



Tuesday 28th Sept:

Orange:

Meet at the sea cans ready to run. Practice is 4:30-6pm. You will be working on physical literacy 

Purple:

Practice is from 4:30-6pm and meet at the sea cans. You will be running, strength, balance and speed. Don’t forget your water bottle! 

Green:

Practice is 4:30-6pm, you will go for a 30-40 minute jog and then meet in the race office for a talk with Emily Nishikawa on how to be a supportive and positive teammate.

 

Thursday 30th Sept:

Purple:

Meet at the sea cans at 4:30pm, you will be doing a warm-up and then running the run portion of the Duathlon. You will end in the stadium at 6pm

Green:

Today is the Duathlon race, it’s a roller ski and running event. You will need, roller skis, boots, helmet, poles, roller ski shirt and running shoes. Please arrive early so you can have a proper warm up.


Saturday 2nd Oct:

Yellow: 

Practice is 1-2:30pm. You will meet in the stadium and this will be your first regular practice! You will be running and working on physical literacy.

Orange:

Orange your practice is a bit different today, you are meeting at the cul de sac at the end of War Eagle Way (I put a photo of the location on the orange page). You will meet there just before 1 pm, play a little game and then head back to the ski stadium for 2:30pm. You will take the 10k and along the way do some trail clearing, a few coaches will go ahead and cut branches that need to be thrown off the trail. Parents you will drop off at War Eagle Way and pick up at the Stadium.

Purple:

Meet in the stadium at 1pm ready to run. You are going on a long  adventure run and you will finish back in the stadium at 2:30pm

Green:

Meet at Winterlong Brewery at 10:30 am to sign in for the Gravel Growler, mass start is at 11am. The course is marked and it's 40km. Everyone should be finished around 1pm.

19th-25th Sept

 Well that was an exciting week for everyone and I hope everyone enjoyed it. This week is a bit calmer but we do have another event this weekend. This Saturday is the work party were we clean up the trails and stadium. Parents you are welcome to help out if you feel like it.

Practice is 4:30-6pm, meet in the stadium and come dressed appropriately. You will be running, doing strength, speed and balance.

Thursday 23rd Sept:

Purple:

Meet at the sea cans ready to run. Practice is 4:30-6pm

Green:

Meet at the sea cans ready to roller ski. Practice is 4:30-6pm. Don’t forget your roller ski shirt, helmet and gloves.

Saturday 25th Sept:

Yellow, Orange, Purple:

Today is the work party from 1-2:30pm, it’s a family friendly event! Parents you are more than welcome to come help us clean up the stadium and the trails. Parents and coaches, if you have gas powered weed whackers and racks, please bring them along. We will be racking wood chips from Copper up to the bridge. We also need to clear all the weeds away from the humps and bumps, adventure trail and the flat section near telemark hill. 

Green:

Meet at the F.H. Collins track at 10:45am, you will be doing a 1500m Time Trial today. The guided warm up will start at 11am and practice will be over at 12:30pm.
